- Command overview:
- PROTECT - Protect your nick from unauthorized use.
- PASSWORD - Change your password.
- EMAIL - Change your email address.
- HIDEMAIL - Hide your email address from other users.
- NOMEMO - Block memos sent to this nick.
- NOOP - Prevent this nick from being added to channel access lists.
- NEVEROP - Prevent ChanServ from automatically granting you channel operator status.
- AUTH - Prevent others from adding you to channel access lists without authorization from you.
The following settings are available:
- Protect: /msg NickServ SET PROTECT <off|on|high|kill>
- Protect your nick from unauthorized use.
- Four options for <value> are possible:
- OFF: anyone may use your nick without authorization. Not recommended.
- ON: users of your nick must identify within one minute or their nick will be changed. This is the default.
- HIGH: users must identify before using your nick or their nick will be changed immediately.
- KILL: users must identify before using your nick or they will be disconnected from IRC.
- Password: /msg NickServ SET PASSWD <newpass>
- Change your password.
- E-Mail: /msg NickServ SET EMAIL <newmail>
- Change your email address.
- You are strongly discouraged from using a fake address, as this will make it much harder to prove your ownership or retrieve a lost password.
- Hide E-Mail: /msg NickServ SET HIDEMAIL <on|off>
- Hide your email address from other users. On by default.
- No memo: /msg NickServ SET NOMEMO <on|off>
- Block memos sent to your nick.
- No op: /msg NickServ SET NOOP <on|off>
- Prevent your nick from being added to channel access lists.
- Never op: /msg NickServ SET NEVEROP <on|off>
- Prevent ChanServ from automatically granting you your channel status when you join.
- You still have the access, and may ask for it at any time after you join
- Authorize: /msg NickServ SET AUTH <on|off>
- Prevent others from adding you to channel access lists without authorization from you.
